AMD Ryzen vs Intel Core Ultra Laptops (2026): Which Should You Choose?

In 2026 both AMD and Intel make excellent laptop processors, and the right choice depends more on the laptop around the chip than on the brand. This guide compares the current generations and points to models in stock.

The current generations

The Ryzen AI 9 465 is a 10-core chip with Radeon 880M integrated graphics and a 50 TOPS NPU. The Core Ultra 7 355 and 356H also have NPUs of around 50 TOPS. Both comfortably meet Microsoft's 40 TOPS Copilot+ requirement.

How they compare

• Battery life. Both new generations are efficient. The laptop's battery size and screen often matter more than the chip.
• Integrated graphics. AMD's Radeon 800M graphics have long been strong for light gaming without a separate GPU, and Intel's Series 3 graphics have narrowed the gap. For real gaming, buy a laptop with an RTX GPU either way.
• Gaming laptops. Intel HX chips are more common in UAE gaming stock today. AMD Ryzen 9 HX models offer strong value.
• Business fleets. Intel vPro and AMD PRO both support enterprise management. Choose the one your IT tools already support.
• Compatibility. Both run Windows and all mainstream software identically.
