Office Network Hardware Procurement Checklist
Scope switches, wireless access points, firewalls, racks and cabling around users, floor plans, bandwidth and future growth.

Count users, devices and locations
Network planning needs more than an employee count. Include laptops, phones, printers, cameras, access-control devices, meeting rooms, servers and guest devices. Record office floors, branches and internet circuits.
Plan switching capacity
List wired ports by area and add sensible growth capacity. Identify devices requiring Power over Ethernet and their power draw. Confirm uplink speeds, fibre or copper connections, VLAN requirements and whether switch management will be local or cloud based.
Design wireless coverage
Floor area alone does not determine access-point quantity. Walls, meeting rooms, high-density spaces, interference and expected concurrent clients all matter. A site survey is valuable for larger or difficult environments.
Define the security edge
Specify internet bandwidth, number of users, VPN use, branch links and required security services when sizing a firewall. Headline throughput can differ from performance with inspection features enabled, so proposals should state the basis used.
Include supporting hardware
- Rack or cabinet and cable management
- Patch panels and patch leads
- UPS and power distribution
- Modules, transceivers and uplink cables
- Mounting hardware
- Labelling and documentation
Ask for a port schedule and bill of materials that links each component to the design. For a combined infrastructure request, contact QuickCart Business with your locations, device counts and target date.
